I attempted to test this product but my bank, Provident Bank, a Jack Henry NetTeller bank, was not compatible. I contacted their support.

Dont be fooled by Mint’s “we work with banks and credit unions” comment. I admit these are slick services, but Mint, Wesabe, Buxfer, Expensr, all these new guys are obstacles if not competition for banks and credit unions. We need to get in the game and offer similar services for our customers. Otherwise they will go to these sites and get false suggestions to switch banks. Mint’s CEO has even made the comment that Bill pay is on their mind. Time to upgrade online services.

It’s a pretty slick and free service. Fairly easy to use with easy set up of accounts. Many of the smaller banks and credit unions are not options with this vendor; they have not established a relationship yet. If you want to manage your credit cards, I think it’s a great tool to use!

I had a problem – the products I got referred to were more expensive than the products I currently have … not saving me any money ….. made me question how did Mint decide what to offer me? How much do they know about my current products to know what would save me money? And how is the site making money? Is it by ads? The user interface is nice and the notifications are nice as well.

Like the service but wish there were more community aspects to it but it’s free, can’t complain too much!

I’m really surprised at how quickly I was able to sign up and see all of my account transactions categorized in Mint. It’s been a phenomenal site for me to use, and I plan on setting up my budget soon. It’s kind of a shock to see each transaction graphed out in a pie chart, but it’s going to help me be more conscientious of how I spend in the future. Now I see what all the hype was about. :)
