I know many banks that do it and the process would be the same, let me pass this question on to some people and see if they can help! That’s what we like to do here! :)
I am doing some research about cashing checks for non-members. It seems that it can be profitable and useful in large urban areas, but I am not sure about other regions such as ours. I wanted to see if there is any info about CU doing this type of thing and how it has worked out.
We cash cheques for non-members where the cheque is drawn on us. We sometimes have to verify the payee with the member who wrote the cheque if it is for a larger amount. We charge $10 and think it more of a service to the member than the cheque casher. We don’t cash cheques for non-members otherwise. Just too risky.
