Ron,

When Brad and I were out in SF, we had dinner with @bakedlaurabean and I believe her CU had just been through an evaluation of the product. Maybe she can help.

Ron, talk to Robbie Wright. He knows quite a bit about it. Also, Shari Storm at Verity has been a client since 2007. Verity’s version is called Velocity Checking.

Here is the exact link to Bancvue ...I don’t know much about the specifics but I know it requires customers to have direct deposit, e-statements, use the ATM at least once a month, and have almost a dozen debit card transactions, which some customers will not meet every month so they don’t get the interest on their account. I do know that several banks here in Dallas are really making them work!

We’ve had it as Accelerator Checking for a little over a year; there seem to be a lot of CUs and small banks in this area with it as well. I’m only peripherally involved…email me if you have any specific questions!

I sit in on a demo that was done along with a Fiserv ITI core demo and was pretty impressed with the products they offer. Back then their method to get the data required to show the profitability seemed a little cumbersome and time consuming . I don’t claim to be a marketing specialist but those banks that I have suggested take a look at it have also been impressed.

Ron—If you’re still looking I can connect you with Russell Dennick, the CFO of Oregon Community CU. They’ve been running it for more than a year.

Ron,

do you have any updates here for us? It would go nice with Brad’s 25 minute interview of the Bancvue and FirstROI CEOs.
