A bank in Ohio was forced to change its name after doing business as Ohio Valley National Bank (“OV”) for 120 years. A new bank moved into the area and called itself Ohio Valley Bank (“OVB”), and trademarked the name, which was never contested within the 5-year time frame. Now the 120-year-old bank has renamed itself after learning a pretty tough lesson on trademark law.
